Car already has a removable steel front. I've managed to get the exhaust to not stick out any further than the flywheel housing

Managed to get an hour free so started on engine mounts today, they are littraly just tacked together then when I'm happy with the design I will take measurements and make some new ones with plenty of triangulation.




The annoying thing is there's currently no room in the garage to build the frame whilst the mini is in there which means I got to unpack it all then spend ages levelling everything up to work on it and pack it back up at the end which takes longer than fabrication

all mounts now finished, just need to make the front to rear sections (under the engine) and the frame is finished

Threw the engine and frame into the scrap front end that we used for mocking up the vtec build.

Seems to be plenty of clearance all around in fact the engine seems tiny now.

Rested the carbs and mpi rad roughly where they should be to give an idea of clearances etc

liking the bike carbs, they'll sound excellent

Not much in the way of progress but I decided I didn't want the carbs being supported entirely by the silicon hoses like most people do, so I made a bracket that will take the weight.

The carbs are a bit further back than I would have liked but it will hopefully give a smother air flow path.

Decided to have a go with some alu-weld rods on the manifold rather than wait for it to be tig'd

The end result ain't to bad / might tidy it up a bit when I get chance





Also I've made a start on the clutch

how you gonna plug the injection ports?

I'm not, they will be used for the manifold vacume points for the Megajolt

Cut some silicon hose to length carbs/manifold now finished ( jubilee clips not shown in pic)






Finish the clutch next I think
