looking really nice. quick question, as you have not cut the bulkhead does this mean that the car will not need an IVA test?

From what I've read it won't. I've not heard of any minis having an iva yet. I'm not worrying about it if it happens then I'll cross that bridge when it happens

I sent my log book to swansea to change engine number to micra one, all they asked for was a letter from a reputable garage stating that engine change was done to an acceptable standard. no problems at all.

That's looking great!

I'm wanting to do a project myself in the near future & thinking a Micra motor is the best way to go for relatively cheap power..

I'll be keeping an eye on this one :teehee:

Another update

Today I sorted out the rad fan. I spent a while Looking into building a voltage switch to operate the fan at a required temp. Whilst looking on maplin website pricing up breadboards, resistors etc, I found that the sell a temperature operated switch kit for a whole £7 :)

All solderd up

And then setting the switching thresholds

Got to say I'm well pleased.

Finally got around to testing the voltage switch/ rad fan driver on the engine today and it worked perfectly, took a while for engine to warm up but once it reached temp the fan kicked in for 5-10 seconds then switched off for a few min before kicking in again for another few seconds. Got to say I'm very happy considering it cost £7 :)

Can you please share the details of the person who welded your shafts for you?

Thanks
