[SAL 821X]

Wow really dropped off the first page then!!! Updates time....

 

Starter Solenoid fitted in the only place I could find. Draw back to having no inner wings, luckily I left the mount for the old oil cooler in place.

 

 

I seem to be missing a few wires to connect it though I'm sure. I have one thick brown and one thin brown. Obviously the battery cable will also attach once I've worked out where to lay the cable.

 

Put the fan and cowling on (yes I realised it's wrong in the picture) which now fowls the timing cover breather! I'll have to re route the breather at some point.

 

 

New fuel sender in the tank. Went to fit the tank but remembered I hadn't painted the filler neck.....

 

 

Sat in the car and had a think about my dials..... This is how it looks so far.

 

 

Gearbox steady.

 

 

Engine bays starting to look as it should again.

 

 

 

Just need some lights for the front now.

 

 

And that's as far as I got.

Only managed an hour over the weekend. But progress is progress!!! 

 

Dropped the filler neck in just need the little nuts as I've lost them.

 

 

 

Bolted the fog lamp on but still needs wiring up. Also put the bumpers on to see if I prefer them chrome or satin black??? I'll probably buy some new one as these are a bit bashed up. 

 

 

Then made a CAD template for the dash dials. 

 

 

Which will look something like this.

 

 

Need to buy the switches and 4 metres of battery cable now though.

Loving the contrasting fuel filler panel may just have to steal that idea.

Satin Black bumpers could be a good look!

Things might slow up again though as it's getting near to Christmas and the cam belt needs doing on the volvo...

Tempted to do the belt myself and say the 80notes in labour but its cold outside and I can't be arsed.

yeah don't blame you I wouldn't want to tackle a cam belt really... not like you say outside in the cold not looking forward to a service on the floor lol

Couple of things to play with tomorrow while 'Her in Doors' is at workies.
