Hadn't seem those nice one Danny.

Do I need both type of gasket though  as when I took the lights apart they have different shape gaskets between the body / lamp and the lamp / lens.

The only ones I can find are these.

Pay day purchase it is then.

Hopefully I can get the damn rack out this weekend and drop the engine back in. I'd rather change the rack now then have to do it with the engine in at a later date.

Looking at the weather today I don't think I'll get to MOT it this year now anyway.

Right then.... Pictures!

Thankfully my cousin was on hand to help out and also brought his engine crane. I was going to try and man handle the lump in so after some amount of faffing to get the engine mounts to line up we were great full for the lift.

Started by striping the front down.

You can never have to bigger tools! This cranes normally used to take Land Rover engines out and has  a 2 tonne pay load. It was a bloody beast of a thing! Just moving it around on it's own was a feet in itself.

It took some rocking, jiggling, swearing and head scratching but SAL finally has a heart... For the first time in 12 years!

All back together. The bonnet needs adjusting but I'm sure it will need to come off again so didn't bother aligning it fully.

Massive day though and really feels to have moved on.

Here's SAL all tucked up and ready for bed.

Looking Good.

My sons 71 estate seems a long way off being where you are. (currently spit roasted on its side in a nice shade of grey primer)

I have only skipped through the 90 pages so sorry if you have answered this already but what is the paint code.

Not sure what to paint the mini yet Yellow or Orange?

I have just finished reading this word for word start to finish over the last two weeks in the evenings while im on holiday, And i have to say hats off to you on sticking with it!!

Im at the very beginning with my special, but I have found it inspiring what you have achieved. I head home in a day or so and with the bank holiday wont be able to leave mine alone now, if the mrs and kids let me! lol they've seen me for two weeks now so they probably had enough of me!

Keep it up and may see you at a show next year!
