So one of those times today that over 10 years down the road you wished you had labelled that wiring loom you took out better...!
That day came today.
Dug out the old dusty loom from the garage and took it home so that I can work on it this week.
I remembered it wasn't great at the time but I'd forgotten just how bad it is. Most of the front light section has been hacked about when it had a flip front. But almost most of the connectors on the rear of the loom have been cut of as well.
Headlamp loom. I'm thinking that whoever did this wasn't an electrician! looped circuits and soldered wires wrapped in insulation tape.
Some bits I cannot even remember what they attached too.
Off came all the nasty grey plastic wrap.
Wiped the whole loom down and it looked a lot better.
Then made a start on re wrapping in fabric tape.
Got a feeling I'm going to need more tape though! I still need to work out how the front loom is going to work and what all the odd cables are meant to attach to.

You are making an excellent job of the re-wrapping mate.
Remember, if you get stuck with what is what etc, you could always pop up a thread on the technical section with pictures of the bits you don't know and people will help sort it out.
have you got a wiring diagram?

Cheers guys.
No diagram ben I know there is ones in the haynes but I'm not sure I'd even understand what I'm look at on that either.
Think I'm going to re wrap it and stick it back in then it might make more sense where stuff goes.

Picked up one of these today. Should look quite neat and make it easy to get the front off.

Slow afternoon in the office but my connector for the wiring arrived so CAD time.
I'll make a steel bracket to attach to the subframe brace bar, paint it black and zip tie it on.
Bracket
Bracket, socket and plug
Three together
I've finished recovering the loom now so need to fit it so I can work out where to split the headlight & indicator loom.
