I've got one knocking about if you need one

Cheers Rocket I might take you up on that.

I'll have a hunt around the garage at the weekend as I must have took it off at some point.

Let you know if not.

Matt

Shame the doors are still giving you jip.

You will get there, Mini doors are notoriously difficult to line up nicely.

Keep going!!

Cheers Ben I'll be back on it again at the weekend.

Still got the rear doors and passenger door to line up.

Then need to widen the bonnet to close the gaps.

And SAL will be ready for paint.

Made some sort of progress on the old girl today.

Rolled her out the garage for a clean up and then shifted over to the other side of the garage so that I can take a look at the drivers door.

Here's SAL soaking up some morning rays...

So then I got the door bolted up.....    Wait for it......    you guessed it! It doesn't line up either.

The window frame is fine all the way round but the crease link in the skin doesn't line up with the crease in the rear quarter. It's fine at the front but too high at the rear as you can see.

After much head scratching... pondering... frustration... and coffee.

I drew a line in blue where the crease should be.

That's about as far as I got. I wonder if I can slot the skin then try and lower the top section of the skin down and weld it back up.... Feel free to add any ideas or tell me it isn't going to happen.

My only other option is just getting a heritage skin and be done with it. Although I would rather not have to folk out another 80 notes if I can help it.

This that I gave up on doors for another day and fitted the bonnet struts instead.

I cannot decide whether or not to put the other side on at the moment.

Spent a bit of time cleaning up the bright work on the handles. There a bit pitted so not sure to use them or not, I then thought about painting them gloss black...

That's it for today.

Rear hinge arrangement.

All 4 are different, arrange them first of all so that the spring and nut is pointing downwards so that the center bolt woundnt fall out if the nut came off, two should have a H on them, these are top (High) and two have an L for bottom or (low)

*Just some info for myself guys so that it's easier for me to find.

No, issues are solved, but I just want rid after the hassle of the paint going wrong, then stripping the paint off for a respray. Having painted the car twice it is not my Dads favourite vehicle, and I don't fit in it very comfortably so I have just got it because I haven't made a proper attempt at selling it.

Well back on the doors again today. Ansd the more i look at it, the more i think that the drivers skin is in fact in the wrong place and a rubbish fit. So looks like I'll be re skinning it again 😞
