[SAL 821X]

New door hinges, rear hinge bolts, rocker spacers and loom tape ordered :) hopefully for delivery Friday. 

 

Going to try and get the doors on, engine bolted together and start on the loom.

Popped the head on and a few shiney bits.


Almost complete bar the fly wheel end.


Found that the dizzy drive wont fit? Must be for a different engine I had at some point. Will have to have a hunt at the weekend or buy a new one.

Well sh*t me!!!! I hope I can find the dizzy drive in the garage somewhere as I've just looked how much they are!!!! £134.50!!!! and out of stock.. 

 

Better get hunting tomorrow....

Have engine will travel.

New rockers spacers to replace the springs.


Flywheel and housing on. Snapped one of the bolts torqueing it up though. Should be ok though as there are 8 others to hold it on.


It seems that my timing is a tooth out at tdc though. I set it up by eye dot to dot. Will i need to strip it down again or can I adjust at the dizzy?



And I had to leave it at that as my 33mm socket wont fit the crank bolt to torque it up.



Didnt get round to trying to find the dizzy drive so will have to wait till tomorrow.

Well working on the rear doors today... Hit a snag that the drivers door fits a treat. On the other side not so good. Looks like the doors twisted as it bows top left and bottem right corners. This was a different door to the original so looks like its knackered. It also doesnt look like it has the right curve to the other door either. :0(

New door me think for christmas.

I'm in the process of fitting my van doors too mate and its been quite a pain in the backside, Be sure to use your door seals while doing so, I'm also using new rubbers for mine and they tend to push the doors out quite a bit so if you can make the adjustments beforehand it will save you time and maybe heartache later in the build.

Hmmmm not got the seals for the rear doors yet. 

 

Perhaps I need to get some before going any further then.

put some spark plugs in that engine.........anything you drop will be attracted to the holes like flies to ........

Progress I think might start to pretty much grind to a halt until I can get some money together to paint it.
