dam sal thats miles out..wings to front panel look about the same as mine was..i just went with lots of clamps and a little bend here and there..

 

i'm sure someone with have a better way to do it though..

I thought it might be bad around the scuttle but really wasnt expecting that bad...

Looking at the pics I'd say the scuttle is more at fault than the wings

Lots of clamps on the wing to front panel and hammer all the return lips flat as they will be press fresh and your right scuttle ends need doing. They are never an easy fit just lots of careful hammer work and the od cut in the wing to aid profiling to the scuttle

Cheers guys thats a great help. Just ordered some more clamp as i only have 4.

I bought some scuttle ends ages ago so will do the off side at the very least.

I'm in the process of picking up a second hand bonnet that's fairly new. 

 

I just need to check though does a 1982 van have the standard saloon hinge mounts at 1.25" in from the edge????

 

I think there's too types for the vans but as my van had a moulded one piece fibre front I don't know.

Can you not just look at the bulkhead on your van to see where the hinge brackets are?

 

I'm pretty certain that they are the ones that are on the ends of the bonnet but not 100%

However I had a look on minispares and it is the 1.25mm hinge type from 1971 onwards.

Not just nuts and bolds I spy a fuel pump and a thermostat lol looking great tho mate and scuttle is defo out front in will bash into place easy enough bud but I would get your bonnet sorted be for you weld anything as it could ad more problems

Cheers pal yeah not going to weld anything untill ive got a bonnet to check it lines up. I don't have enough gas left in my bottle either really so need to get a fresh one before doing it.

Its a oil filter mount as ive lost the one that came off the engine.
