Nice job mate ! What type of paint are you using ? 2k? Celly? Or solvent basecoat ???
It's cellulose mate.
Its looks better in the pictures trust me Ryan, it's patchy as hell got the paint to thin when i mixed it with the thinners. It wouldnt stick that well and has run in a few places. Hey ho learning curve.
I'll just lay it down thicker next time.

It's good mate! My dad always uses Celly as that's what he's used to :) we are basically at the same stage now!

Sorry mate crap signal at my house and pain to write out long posts on my phone.
Basically I read somewhere that its advised that you start with a thicker paint to thinners ratio and then work towards less paint and more thinners. I can't quite remember but I think it's something to do with the thinners that give's it the shine.
So if your aiming for something like 3 coats start at paint to thinners ratio of:
1st coat: 70/30
2nd coat: 50/50
3rd coat: 40/60
If that make sense?
As I only had a small amount of paint I thought I'd go with more thinners and just try and blow a thin coat over a larger area. I think I got it too thin though as it wouldn't stick to the stonechip very well.
I might be wrong so I wouldn't take my word for it.
Compressor wise I'm using a 50ltr 3hp jobby I got for my birthday one year, think it was one of the Aldi special offer ones. It seems more than up to the job painting the floor, arches and bulkhead. Not sure that I would attempt to paint the body with it though. But I might yet get someone to paint it for me instead.

Cheers Hoody I'll give that a whirl.
I could probably do with getting a better gun and all really. Just using the one that came in the kit with the compressor.
