I will be needing a loom for mine i have seen minisport sell them, anyone no if these are any good?

 

Not sure if it's a case of get what you pay for but the minisport ones seem to be a lot more money?

 

Yeah they arent cheap, so i would be look else where i would have thought i always try to avoid them anyways..

Minispares seem to be the cheapest at the moment for an alternator type.

 

Going to have a chat with the guys Ryan mentioned in the new year and see what they can come up with as their only up the road.

Few bits and bobs on the engine today soent most the day cleaning the volvo.

Got the centre oil pipe fitted finally.


Putting it all back together and forgot to out the bloody washers in so out it cane again.

Then re did the timing chain and put the soeedo gearing back on and rested the gearbox on the block.

Engine wise need to get the centre main strap machined so i can fit that then gearbox can be mated to the block once again.

They do list vans! Just just what MK loom you need the in the drop down model box select van !

Well not really much to update in the way of pictures sorry folks just been grinding, seam sealing, trying to get the nasty under seal off the floor and the odd bit of welding here and there.

Hopefully I can pick a stonechip gun up tomorrow and get some paint on.

Pictures later but a fairly productive day marred by having to re do the near side door step I think as its quite bodged.

First thing first we gave stone chip. Although I only bought a litre so ran out to finish the rear off.







Ran out when i got to the heal board. :0(


Need to go over a few bits though so should use another bottle up.

Then moved onto fabricating the closing panels... Bugger that was too!




Whipped a flap disc over the welds.


Then sat and pondered over the door step and lower side panel.


Theres a half inch gap between the edge of the heal board and the side panel. Now I think this down to the panel not being straight and tucked under the rest of the side of the van.



Looking at the inside of the step from the outer sill, it looks like the step has been chopped about and at different levels. This is what I thinks throughing it out at the other end.

 

Guess I'll have to chop that all out and put a new step and lower rear side panel in.

Last thing was to put on some new braided rear hoses i got for chrimbos.

Echo the comments on the load bay, my was damn rough in places and covered in dents - amazing since the sides were fab, so carrying a load strong enough to dent the floor but not the weaker sides??

Looking really good there, and your load bay sounds the like the same story as mine, rest of the car is hanging on mine, but load bay so far seems to be looking good...
