Tonight I think I shall fit the cross member as I'm waiting on getting the stonechip and my air mask back.

Cheers guys, I put it down to just getting to know each other.... Much like having a women... costs you a lot and sometimes painful!
Thinking about the cross member last night and getting it a lined on my own. When I offered it up to check the fit one of the end tabs was about 2-3mm out. It was difficult to hold it in the right place while the vans on its side.
So I was thinking off maybe slinging a ratchet strap round the floor to hold the inner sills in slightly while I weld the tabs on.
Does this sound right?

Thanks chaps.
~The M Machine I have is good it's just millimetres out so it's either that or the van who knows without trying a gen one I guess. Thinking about it some more I'll try a couple of screws to hold it in place first. Your right Hoody hadn't thought that the strap could distort the door frame.
Then as you say Ryan knock the tabs over a bit.

Chaps just out of interest.
Would some thing like this suit spraying gravitex on the floor?

Just I've got one in the garage thought it might save me the money buying a underseal gun thingy.
Should work, can only try!
The underseal guns are cheap though and screw straight onto the gravitex bottle for ease of use.
you go through it pretty quick so would need to keep topping up the parrafin gun frequently.

Only managed a few bits this weekend gone as a mate came round I hadn't seen in a while to see how I was getting on.
Did manage to blast a flap disc over the welds on the passenger side and get some seam sealer on.
I've also bought some gravitex so just waiting to get some time to have a play with that.

No progress on the van at the moment been to busy, I've just sold off my camera kit from when I worked as a photographer many moons ago!!! Sad day as we had some good times together... haha....
Although it does mean I now have just over a grand to sink into the van.... happy days..... spending spree commence!
Trouble is it's burning a hole in my wallet and I cannot decide to spend it now or wait till after Christmas? (I finish work next Thursday so delivery is a problem mostly)
Having said that I really need to order the front end now so there's a bloody good chunk of it gone straight away.

Also I've decide to leave the cross member until the van is the right way up again. As its on its side at the moment it's a git to try and hold it in position on my own keeps falling on me.
Once its the right way up it should be easier to position it.
