You want something harder than scotch for the floor! 240-320 really then etch/stonechip/primer/ topcoat as the stone chip will hide any scratch marks anyway ! Good work mate!

In other news the heel board almost fits apart from a damn spur that I can't seem to get off which is causing the board to sit funny.

Stolen image from Ryan I now but can anyone tell me if the ridges on the stiffener are for strength or just vents or even both?

Good Question as i need to no the same thing for mine when i come round to doing it, i am pretty sure the way he has it there in that photo is correct...

Maybe I should go into my question more. The reason I asked if the ridges are for strength or just vents because I'm thinking of making my own looking at how much they cost.

 

But I won't be able to add the veins as I don't have a roller it will just be a flat sheet of metal.

I believe they are to help the sill area breathe but you if you made your own you could still some holes instead ???
