Hmm, when I built up my floor which I ended up but welding I left a bit of overlap to start with, got everything lined up bolted down then used a 1 mm cutting disk to slit between the panels 6 inches at a time without unfastening the rest and used some clamps to pull it the last mm into alignment and tacked it. I continued that along the full length and ended up with fairly decent fit.

Overlap the pieces of metal with at least an inch then use a 1 mm thick cutting disc on the grinder. This gives the perfect gap for avoiding distortion :)

How I done my floor bud was pretty simple as it's a simple panel
Welded on both sides cut with a 1mm disc as above also

Not a sausage mate haven't touched it since cutting the floor out on the 24th April.
I've just moved house again so that's taken up a lot of time and been away the last few weekends watching Leicester City Football Club. Although, now they crashed out the play-offs yesterday, I've got 3 months to concentrate on the Van before this season starts again.
Aiming to have a good go at getting the floor in on Saturday though so update coming.
