Yea, seen the sbd stuff, would love their top itb kit.

Flappy, the c20 clubby is an awesome machine, would love to go out in it! Also may have some c16 bits and pieces for you or tom. I'll let you know.

Marc, would be very interested in the C16SE cylinder head on its own if possible, I need one as a template for a new exhaust manifold.

Nice one on getting Robs engine too!!! I wish I could have afforded it but its wrong time for me really, can't wait to see your Clubby once it (finally) gets done! :D

Hi,

How much is the kit that you have bought?

And does this conversion require any bonet extensions of anything like that?

Doesnt need any body work apart from a box welding in the bulkhead to help clear the gear shift assembly, inner wings modifying to clear the subframe, nothing major. Cost varies depending on what you want with the kit, best getting in touch with allspeed and i'm sure he'll send you a price list of everything.

Tom - the head is screwed, i was going to weigh it in scrap. You can have it anyway, be useful for what you want, its stripped bare and i've been playing with the ports a bit just to see what can be done but the exhaust ports are fine.

Yeah Marc I shall be interested in a few bits. What was screwed on it again?

Tom are you thinking about designing a manifold then?

Flappy, i've scrapped the block, pistons, cam etc. I have a new water pump, head gasket set and cam belt, and the inlet manifold, thats pretty much it as far as i can remember.

If anyone has any xe inlet manifold/coolant system parts i need some!

I've been rebuilding my cylinder head the last couple nights, what a pain in the arse. Its just so time consuming lapping in 16 valves!! and then fitting 32 colletts deep down in the vauxhall head to hold 16 valve springs in!! My hands are sore! lol. Its looking good though, new valves, valve stem oil seals etc. Just got to fit the new hydraulic tappets and cams and it'll be ready to stick on the block!

I've also temporarily sat the fibreglass front on in position, still waiting for mr forgetful, tom, to get me a measurement though! Lol, i know he's busy really!

Bit of progress anyway.

The head is now back on the block, new valves, tappets, head bolts, gaskets etc etc. Just need to time it up and find a loom and inket manifold and it'll be running!

I know i know!! Will do when i remember my camera!

I've had to move my gear selector housing a bit further back (again) to make my dash fit in, but its now welded in position. Chopped some more bits of my carbon dash, more to go yet though!

I need to buy some seats now so i can see where they sit etc. Jammys seats!! Anyone know where theres any good cheap carbon seats?? (apart from jammys project)

Lol, cheap and carbon seats don't go together. The Fluke Motorsport ones I have are probably the cheapest I've seen, and they are just under £500 each I believe. Tillett do some real nice ones too, but I think they are about £900 each! As Smudger said on my project, you have to make sure you can use them in a saloon car, most are built to be used in a Westerham and so require a bulkhead directly behind them. There are similar ones to mine though in fibreglass that are A LOT cheaper!
