(and also save a hell of a lot of money!)
Although, I've just thought, while your shell is in its current condition it'd be really easy to modify the bulkhead to accept the 16V on standard injection (or carbs or ITBs or whatever).....although you'd then have to relocate the master cylinders which is another whole load of work, or money if you get the Allspeed master cylinder conversion.

I've got the engine turning, just. Kinda attacked it gently with a hammer to free the piston rings off, cylinder 4 is screwed, lots of corosion on the bore. Mite try honing them all and see what it looks like, as you say tom it wouldnt be hard to get it rebored etc. We'll see how it turns out, probably wont make any difference to be fair. I could do wwith saving the money and just getting it running.

I went to allspeed the other day to look at his equinox demo car because it had the 16v 1.6 engine in but found it now has the 1.4 8v in!! The good thing about this is he has sold me his old 16v engine. It needs valve stem seals but he's included all new seals, gaskets, valves and hydraulic lifters in the sale, the lifters themselves cost what i paid for everything!! Very very pleased, so a big thankyou to Rob at allspeed!
Other than that, not a lot of progress, built up my metro turbo callipers with new seals and stainless pistons, stainless flexi hoses etc.
