Never ever use the Mini sill jack - either carry the trolley with you, or get a bottle jack.

Are you after one of the side jacks that fits into the jacking point on the side of your mini? You need to make sure that your jacking points are in good order or you can do some serious damage. Lots of people chuck them out, I think I've got one in the shed (I'd need to check). You do see them on Ebay sometimes but they don't really sell.

f you're not 100% certain on your jacking points you could look for a small bottle or scissor jack that you can use in the same places as your trolley one. Plenty around on eBay for less than £15.

thats great thanks guys, yeah was thinking of one for the specific mini jacking points but now you mention it not sure on the condition of them. Trolly jack is a little large really to carry around all the time so i shall look for a small bottle or scissor jack

Thanks

You should be able to fit one of these in the boot of your Mini no problem. Clicky

Just been looking at a halfords bottle jack. The thing is i was reading the reviews and one said that they bought it (1.5 tonne) bottle jack and it wouldnt fit under the car to use it. Confused now as if it was me i would lift the car one side to get it under but my wife drives it alot and cant see her doing this.

Thanks Tupers, That is the trolly jack i have but dont fancy having to keep it in the car all the time, after something a little smaller

You will have to check the height but you should be able to get a small bottle jack to fit under. Best to get the tape measure out and check the clearance under your car before you buy one.

Scissor jacks will fit under easily but they are more difficult to operate.

I've got a Draper trolley jack that's basically the same as the Halfords one. It sits in the boot fine, it is a bit cumbersome but the boot's not big enough to put anything else in anyway so it's fine
