NOICE! Just like my 1st mini.

Hope you've got deep pockets because the modification bug will bite you....in about 9 hours time when you wake up and start planning its future!

Panels are cheap, you can get them online or from shows. You'll find it much harder to sell on a mini with fiberglass panels especially front ends because the structure of the car has changed and its not for the majority of owners or purists.

The paintwork will also be likely to crack on fiberglass panels as they flex and bend under stress.

No, you can get new pannels cheap and then weld them on, that is the best way really. look on here you will find what you need. http://www.minispare...itle=Body~Panel

None of that rust is terminal though. I got my mini in 2000 and it was about as rusty as that, drove it for nearly 10 years and by treating the rust each year it got worse only slowly. Although granted when I did come to repairing it it I didn't do any little patches... it was off with the lot lol.

Its up to you what you do, but what I did was concentrate of keeping the mechanical side in order, if your not a mechanic and still quite a novice its probably best to get a mini specialist to fix anything mechanical, but no reason why you can't ask them if they'll let you watch. Observation is a great way to learn, plus if it goes wrong a garage will have all the right tools to fix as they go.

As for modifying, I'd restrict that for now, its already a Cooper, so presumably insurance will be a sair one. If you've got plenty of money to spend then get the bodywork done...
