Get your self a couple of plastic packers to put under the bottom of the door to stop it from dropping. Slacken the hinge nuts on the A post to move the door back in at the bottom. Be gentle and do not slacken the nuts too much, it might be handy to have another set of hands but you can do this on your own but it will take a little longer.

If this does not go then you may have to enlarge the A post holes or slot them. I have enlarged and slotted the holes on the A posts on Project Erm to get the doors to sit right plus a little bit of twisting and bending on the doors themselves.

should have some adjustment shims located where the bolts of the hinge,s come thru. you can buy them on minspares or other sites.

From your first post you do not need to put shims under the hinges, just undo the hinge nuts of the A post and readjust the door that way.

The above pic is for mk1/2's, I geuss from you thread you have internal hinges. where abouts does the door rub? if they rub on the a-panel you'll need to put a shim in between the door hinge and a-post. If it's rubbing on the b-post then you'll need to remove shims (if you have them) to bring the door forwards.

Ive got some rubbing on the bottom closest to the B pillar. Like if the door is angled a bit.

Any suggestions?

If it’s rubbing along the bottom then you need some shims under the lower hinge to A post.

But what does the gap look like along the bottom of the door and the back of the door to rear quarter panel??

All of my gaps seem large, there arent any obvious gap issues, but the paint is rubbing off the bottom of the doors

Sounds like the door needs to come up.

Slacken the nuts, lift it up and retighten.

How to the swage lines look?
