Have just fitted newly rebuilt turbo engine with t2 turbo. The car is fitted with megajolt, which all works because the plugs are all sparking fine. The problem is that the fuel is not getting through the carb.

There is fuel in the float chamber because 'ive taken the carb off several times and stripped it down and then blown through all the pipes and they are not blocked. (carb has only just been rebuilt as well).

I have also had the dash pot off and turned the fuel pump on to see if there is fuel coming up the jet but it isn't. i've tried emptying the oil from the dashpot to let it move easier, and have tried running the mixture and idle screws all the way in and out before starting [and in various combinations of positions].

i've tried starting it with full throttle, no throttle and everything in between. the car is cranking at a good speed and there is a good airflow into the engine.

help! [please]

Have you checked the float height?

yeah i have, is it right that the middle of the float should sit 1mm below the edge of the carb when the carb is held upside down?

I think i will check it again tomorrow just in case.

Have you done what I foolishly did last year after a rebuild... connected the fuel line to the HIF44's overflow? Resulted in fuel in the bowl... but only 'because I was flooding the carb! :)
On the HIF44 the fuel in is the lower pipe, fuel overflow is the top one.

You say the carb was rebuilt, has everything been reassembled properly? You havent got the Needle valve upside down or something simple?
