Few fuel leaks but soon sorted that need to be set up in the gun but it runs
There is almost piston hitting valve noise from the top / back of the engine any ideas

i would have thought a piston hitting a valve would do damage even with the lightest of taps, they arnt the strongest of things.
maybe put a bit of paint on the top of each rocker and while its wet give it a quick run then look for paint.
im glad your back doing your mini again, i just spent a hour reading through all your posts. I got to the same position with my project with loseing interest, i brought it with all the bodywork done and i payed to have it sprayed. i fitted engine suspension interior ect and last thing to go on were the wheels, the bloke before me hadn't lined up the body kit properly so they didnt fit. i lost all interest then and sold it sometimes i wish i hadnt, but it was too much of a blow to keep going with it.

Out if interest what procedure did you follow when you started it up for the first time?

And I'm soon glad I never got rid of it now
Also Ian I just turnt the engine over with out the center lead on the dizzy to build up oil pressure once oil pressure was built up I just put the lead back on and turnt it over and it started just kept the revs up a little bit to keep it running and that was it
