Didn't care where the air went, just didn't want it drawing air around the hot engine. The idea was just to put cold air over the carb and down the back of the engine.

I'd like to get along to a Miglia race and have a look at how they tackle some of these issues. the series is like a Laboratory for extreme evolution of Mini engineering!
