Just a quick o

Just bought the welder etc etc..

Bit confused on which wire to get for the panel replacement now...0.6 or 0.8mm? And which type stainless steel or mild steel etc etc?

I use 0.6mm mild steel

I use 0.8 which is fine.

0.6 is fine for bodywork too just dont expect to be glueing any girders together.

i always use 0.8, find it welds better than 0.6 personally

i agree with old skewl 0.8 seams to weld better. Although ive now started tig welding which is much better

I've used 0.6mm for over twenty years now including making a box trailer and its been more than enough.

I've got a gasless mig so i dont think they do a 0.6 flux corded wire do they?

Flux cored comes in 0.9.

I made the chage from flux cored to argonshield and 0.6 wire, sooooooooooooooo much better! It's worth concidering. There's plenty of topics on here about it or check out Mig welding forum for loads of usefull advice!

Flux cored comes in 0.9.


And 0.8 if you look on e-bay.
