i have just ordered a new stud from mra and taking the missus' motor today... it's not worth worry about since she's happy to give me her car, at least i don't need to worry about potholes now!!

or speed cameras

woops sorry about the 2 spam posts there, I will contribute

Yes, it is very risky to drive with a missing stud, good choice to take the wifes car ^_^

haha, there's no speed cameras here, single track roads with lots of blind corners and potholes are enough to regulate your speed!!

Very unsafe indeed. 'Cos if you crash into me whilst driving your car, knowing that there's a problem with it, I'll kick your bleedin' teeth in...

We've all found things broken/bent/missing on our vehicles and realised that it's been a bit dodgy. You give a sigh of relief that you spotted it before it caused a disaster, fix it straight away, then move on. That's not the same as keeping on driving when you already know it's not right.

I drove to wales and back with 3 wheel studs, it was a bout 600 mile round trip.
I'm not dead.

One example doesn't mean everyone will be alright.
Plenty of people have crashed perfectly servicable cars, doesn't mean every servicable car will crash, the thing is to minimise risks.

When it comes down to it, if anybody drives with a known defect then in my book they're a bit of a plonker.

ood stuff, hope it all goes well. I'd advise checking the other studs for necking/thinning wile you're there.

cheers dave, had a good look at the others after snapping that one, guess it can't hurt to replace them anyway, they're less than a pound so think i'll add it to my jobs list...
