Well then,

A while ago, i bought a puch maxi to replace my insanely slow honda melody, but i couldnt get the thing to work so i sold it on and i've finally replaced it with this.

I thought it would be worthwhile to use something with gears, because then i can take my test on it.

Also, i can modify it to become a cafe racer, which is what im currently doing.

As it arrived to me on wednesday:

And last night, i started to fabricate the seat.

This morning, after i got back from my driving lesson, i screwed the structure together, added number plate brackets, and finished by filling it with expanding builders foam.

I then trimmed it slightly, round the edges at least and found it hadnt set in the middle. So i've left that in the shed and it should be set by tomorrow.

Once its set, im going to shape it all with a knife and then slap filler over the top - then sand, paint and trim the thing.

I hope you approve!

Jono

I've now relocated the indicators ready for when that small part of the rear frame comes off:

Also test fitted the seat, which was partially still drying at the time, hence the slightly bumpy shape.

Then I did the final shaping of the seat.

Then, for some reason, a whole tub of filler wasnt enough.

So I need more filler before I can carry on!

Wouldn't you be better off laying some fiberglass over that? if it's just filler/bondo it's going to crack off in one hunk and go through someone's windscreen.

I've had good luck @ a marine store, good cloth and some resin.

Well its yet to be trimmed, and when it is, it should be fine.

Its all strengthened, so it shouldnt flex, and all the filler that is already on there is rock solid so it should be fine.

Dude, the filler will crack as said above! It will be too brittle!

Id crack it off and lay fibre glass sheeting over the foam before you spend money getting it nicely trimmed!

Sorry guys!

I've had to spend days on end getting it to start, i've gotta get another tub of filler to give it a final coat, but then its a quick paint and then my mums finishing it with vinyl for me.

I wanted it finished this week but thanks to running problems i havent been able to.
