Nearly won one on ebay yesterday. Outbid in the last minute, my max bid was £4.99 (wasn't too bothered about it, but if I won it, I'd basically got a roof rack for nothing) and it sold for £5.19. It wasn't local for me anyway, would have cost more to pick it up than post it. But, it's proof you can get them dead cheap if you keep looking out for them. If it's a solid frame, don't worry about the condition. Just give it the treatment it needs and a bit of paint and it will look great.

I got a black one off ebay for £20
Was in really good condition, I don't have any pics yet but I really love the wooden slats and definitely thinking of adding some!

I want to either buy/have made or make my own roof rack but not sure what I want to go for. My mini is a bit brown/red coloured so was thinking getting a steel frame powder coated to match my wheels and have wooden slats.

What do you think... would be grateful is you could add any pics so I can look at ideas :D, where is best to buy from etc.

Louise

the Monte Carlo roof rack is nice.. ive had mine powder coated in black... bring on the summer camping trips! wooden slats will need loads of weatherproofing and waxing. but would look great on a retro conversion.
