Roof Racks!

I want to either buy/have made or make my own roof rack but not sure what I want to go for. My mini is a bit brown/red coloured so was thinking getting a steel frame powder coated to match my wheels and have wooden slats.

What do you think... would be grateful is you could add any pics so I can look at ideas :D, where is best to buy from etc.

I picked mine up on ebay for about 40 quid, few cans of primer and white paint, sprayed it and added wooden slats jobs a goodun!

Just keep checking ebay to find a decent one, brand news ones are expensive!

Ahh that looks like the sort of thing I'm after! I found a couple on eBay but they were well over £100 for ones that needed a full refurb and were in horrible condition. Might just stick with it and see if anything comes up.

Mine is useful for carrying girlfriends about when I have stuff on the passenger seat.

Most classic car roof racks will fit aslong as they have brackets for roof guttering.

Mine was from an old volvo of sorts cost about 30 pounds.
Some metal polish, blood and sweat, window frame planks stained to the colour of my steering wheel. ta da...

i offerd the guy that had one forsale $50 (25 pound ) and he said no its not enough . he had a $10( 5 pound ) reserve . i was the only one that bid and got it for $10. when i went to get it he looked a bit pissy about it . haha

Thanks for the photos everyone, been so busy i've not had chance to look until now! They all look great, I better get my bum into gear and look a little harder as I couldn't find any under £100 when i looked :D
