Next up is all the bushes, nuts and bolts on the rear sub-frame and hopefully fitting re-con radius arms if I have the cash.

Past experience has taught me that the pins are far more likely to have worn than the bushes, you may be able to get away with just changing the pin for £10. I had to change the needle bearings too on mine, but that is possible with a little ingenuity with some threaded bar.

Thanks for the advice, I've bought the whole kit from Minispares after seeing the state of the lower arm bushes on the front!

I was on about the radius arms, sorry :shy:

The bush kit you've linked to is the pre 76, is that the correct one for yours? You can tell by looking at the trunnions in all 4 corners, they should be identical for the pre 76 kit and have two bigger ones on the heelboard for the later cars.

Here is the radius arm kit I was on about: http://www.minispare...id=37509&title=

I was just going to go for the full arms re-con http://www.minispare...id=37305&title=

Much easier I would think?

Easier yes, but bloody expensive for what it essentially a lick of paint and pressing a bush and bearing in.

Not such a good day today.

Started the job of replacing all the bushes on the rear sub-frame this morning, ended up having to remove the whole thing as I snapped a few bolt heads when trying to remove the radius arm.

Completely stripped the frame now and will take it to the powder coaters tomorrow. Will need to get a couple of the bolts drilled out first though.

Will head up to Minispares in a couple of weeks to exchange the radius arms for refurb ones. Will also replace the handbrake cable and a load of other things when I get caught up in spending cash :gimme:

Had the rear sub frame powder coated, but in the process of re-fitting the radius arms I've managed to thread one of the captive bolts, so another job for this weekend is to try and weld on another nut in the most awkward of spaces (for the camber brackets).

After re-fitting the sub frame, bleeding the brakes, re-fitting the dash with new fitting kit and finishing off a few bits and pieces under the engine bay we should be good to go!

As it stands, before the rain came, not a huge amount of change on the outside:

Good news, passed MOT yesterday but at a cost of £200. Needed a small bit of welding and a steering rack gaitor.

Moving house soon so no spare cash to spend on it for a while so will stay as is for now.

Drums all round, 5mm spacers on the rear with longer studs.

Wheels are 10x5.

Not much update to this over the last year or so. New house and baby have taken priority. Car has passed MOTs over the last year or two with very little problems.

But recently changed the seats back to the original blue items, and just tarted up the dash with some new trim. Much better I hope you'll agree!

That's perfect in every way!

I must admit to having a Clubby estate in my short list of "Cars I must own within the next 10 years".

So I've made the decision to put this on the market in the summer. Since the last MOT in May i've driven it less than 500 miles which is a shame. As much as I'd like to keep it, I just don't have the time to spend hours on it at the weekends as that's the only time I get to spend with my little boy. And also, I don't want to drive with him in it.

So I'll be giving it a full service, fresh MOT and a few little touch ups on the exterior then in May then up for sale. No idea how much for at this point.

I want to replace my main car with something newer, so need the money to contribute to that. But I know as soon as I drive it and get it MOT'd again I'll want to keep it!
