The light/baby blue mayfairs didnt have hardly any chrome on them from factory. Black bumpers, grille, mirrors even door handles.

This was the plan I had for my Mini

Any chrome bits were to be sprayed or changed

That looks mint either way, very stealthy looking. Like it a lot :(
Would nearly tempt me to go for a black respray. But I love my scobby blue all the same.

I have done this to a certain extent myself, by painting all of the front brightwork... Unfortunately after a few months it now looks tatty and has chipped all over the place. If you are going to try this, I recommend powdercoating as the way forward. To give you a representative quote, to powdercoat the grille surround and headlamp surround black will set you back around £40 :D

(Before the paint chipped) :D

looks good, might start collecting some bits and pieces then! think i better keep the shiny bits just in case it doesn't turn out as nice as i hoped!! my car is dark grey already so not sure what black would look like against that...
