Air Conditioning Removal..?

First time mini owner... purchased a 94 Rover Mini spi that came with air conditioning. I come from a long line of volkswagens... and the compressors used to way almost as much as the cylinder head. I imagine this unit in a little mini has the same effect... doubly bad as I am sure it sucks half the life out of the 1275 engine.
In any case, I would like to remove this myself but first wanted to inquire if anyone has some experience in doing this, and the best way for me to go about it. Tried searching, couldn't find anything (honest!)
Cheers,
Parker

After that just dismantle things.
I believe someone said you;ll need a different altenator bracket and new belt.
I removed mine, but also installed an A series in place of the A+ so the bracket wasn't an issue.
A couple of different interiors were available. I have the one with plastic dash and integrated vents and blower motor covered by fake glove box...I'm leaving all that in place however ...in case next owner wants to go back to orig.
It is important to cover the hole or holes that the pipes went through the fierwall in. If you don't you'll have fumes coming in, water etc.

Parker.....like said over on the other site....important first step is to have it drained first.
After that just dismantle things.

Cheers! I double posted... not realizing it would be answered so quickly over there. I'll continue my questions over there.
