Some say it’s terrible.... all I know is, I bought them and now I have to live with them...
But I will let you guys know what they are like when we install the subbies next year.
Cheers.

I finally have an update for you guys...
Basically I got busy with some of my new parts that started rusting, so I had to pull out my finger and get them sorted.
Some nice new rusty bits...
At this point I decided to strip it all down and get on with painting them. I started with the drives and worked my way through all the parts needed to assemble the front subby.
I used Rust -o- Lean paint, It seemed to be a good product with a lot of finishing options.
On the pic below you can see the hub and discs painted in matt- High Heat black while the steering arm and flanges are in hammered grey, both paints prevent rust.
I also Painted the top arms, witch my mate Willy serviced with some kits from Mini Sport.
Here is a nice comparison between the two Drives.
Finally I had all the parts needed to assemble the front subby.
I started with the springs, cones and top arms.
The bottom arms where already installed when I did the mock-up.
Front subby done... Only took 2 years.
During my assembly I noticed something very disturbing on my front subby, I will investigate and post up my findings shortly.
Thx for watching
Cheers.

I see you got your bug back and giving GIEN all, looking good, well sexy to say the least, just wondering how it is you already got some rust on various parts, I spray all those things with a silicon spray if I am leaving it for a while, looks like you had a paint blister of some sort, easy to take care off. Good to have you back.

Yes I painted the brake discs... all this means is the first time I apply some braking the pads will eat threw the paint and expose the contact area. Leaving the rest of the disk painted and rust free... depending on how well the High Heat paint withstands the brake disk temperature.
It’s good to be back muk, I’ve got no idea how or why the parts rusted so quickly... I live about 600 km away from the coast and my garage shuts properly... well all still good.
Cheers.

Proof that Gien has a Hart.
I got the Engine back two weeks ago, all seems well and sorted, and I’m going to list everything done to the Block:
Machined to 1360cc offset bores
-Bigger Valves Fitted
-Double valve springs 200lbs
-1.5:1 Roller Tip Rockers
-Duplex Timing Chain
-Central oil Pickup
-3.11:1 Diff Ratio
-4-Pin Diff
-Stage 3 Ported Head
-Block Central Strap
I believe that’s it.
I also started tidying up all the engine mounts and brackets.
Before:
After:
Thanks for the views.
Cheers.
