What can I say, we Dutch are everywhere, and doing something crazy with passion, even more strange here, my Mini is an 1981 HL 998cc too.

Haha could be true, haven't seen any other 1981 HL's here in the Netherlands. First I got to do my blue Mini. It needs a new front end and a new floor. It's pretty good on the sills etc so that shouldn't be any problem I think. Next project will definitely be a long wheel base mini, like a clubman estate or a van. Also got a small topic on here somewhere about my blue Mini.

Do you have any projects in mind?

Got a small update for you.

I kicked Gien out of the house and booked her in for some rehab (Blast & Prime) . She should be fully detoxed when I get her back next week, and that is when the fun begins.

Here is the entire ordeal in pictures.




Had to strap her down... was so sad.





When we got there the Guard had to keep her down... I almost cried....




She looks terrible now but I know it’s for her own good.

Well Gien is back home...



She got Sandblasted and primed during the week... Not much else to report except that there is a lot of hard work to come!!!!

Looking fab, shotblasting and priming,.....good idea. Not a problem being the black sheep of the family, know the feeling, it's what Gien makes of it in the end!!
Have you got a game plan drawn up yet,....... you got tostart from the beginning!!

Hi Muk... Basically my plan is to start with all the c- threw panels (RUST) and get that sorted. Then I will probably build her up and make sure everything is there and that it fits and works, before I strip her back down again for final bodywork and paint...Lots of work!!!!

Looks like you have a very clean shell there wish mine was as good, if I sent mine to get blasted i think i would just get a bag of rust back lol.

Thx R.S.P ...luckily for me most of the shells rust was sorted about 8 years ago.... but I did notice a lot of filler on the left front wing... should be interesting to find out what’s underneath there !!!
