Oh well, that will keep you busy then! ;)
Yup, once I have him on his wheels that’s going to be one of the next jobs. Just need to save a few more pennies first

Love this and love the colour. My project is definitely going back to Teal Blue. Im stalled at the moment saving for a roll over jig so I can set about stripping, rust removing and welding. Christmas always arrives at the worst possible time for me. Maybe we should move Christmas to June???

More door work, treated with Deox
Primed
and topcoated
and while i was waiting for paint to dry i prepped the replacement scuttle
Then it was back to trial fitting the door and skin
Its not bad but the gaps need to be adjusted
The A panel wont fit this gap so some more tweaking will be needed
and i think i will be adding some metal along the bottom as well.
Hiya Neil. When prepping the scuttle I noticed you haven't drilled plug weld holes in the corners, why? If I hadn't seen this I'd have drilled along the whole length, thanks, Jim

Thanks Neil, was looking how you put your front end on and I thought it was a little strange. Makes sense now

Nothing started on Paddy this year BUT my lad who buys and sells Snap On tools picked up a load from a chap who has retired from the trade.
Now the billy bonus from all of this was he worked on minis and for some considerable time (don't know his name) and was clearing out his garage. Now as sods law would have it we lost out on the big stuff but he had a stack of small stuff left over and an awful lot of it OEM bits, plus tooling.
So although i have had a partial look through this is what i have now got. Happy days

What a result!

Im trying to figure out what some of the tooling is for to be honest. Some is straight fwd but others not so.
I will have to buy some better storage to compartmentalise all of it. Its a right jumble of stuff.

Wow what a haul! Is that first thing a Sykes Pickavent clutch oil seal tool? I tried to get one of those, but in the end resorted to the moron method with a screwdiver and hammer. :)

So here we go time to kick start the work on Paddy.
First thing was spend a chunk of change with Minispares, ARP 11 stud kit, ARP Conrod bolts, BMH back plates, steering rack clamps, rear subbie mounting stuff along with the front, front to rear brake pipe, various rubber seals covers etc, mounting hardware and recon radius arms.
And then more paint, 2k Gloss black for all of the suspension components, more Teal Blue paint for the engine bay, more G3 cutting paste and a gallon of panel wipe.
And a result for me this week, i dont know if you remember a chap who had his Cooper S done on Car SOS, well he was selling of the remainder of his old parts. So one Servo from said car and a set of 5x10 Minilights. Not 100% sure if they are Mag Alloy BUT for their age the corrosion is light. Once the old rotten tyres are off i will make a judgement call to see if i will refurb them.
I did see if Minispares did a rebuild kit for the servo but there is a question about what its actually from. It looks like a Mini servo but the number on it does not refer to anything on their system. Some research required.
