Paddy is looking great all this hard work and set backs will be long forgotten when you take him for his first mot. I might have missed it but what do you do for a living? as it sounded like you were in the print. I only ask as I am in the print and have suffered with dermatitis. I have found Dermashield (barier cream) and modern hand cleaners along with moisturizer a great help. Good luck with the paint.

Paint day, again so back to prepping and taping.
And paint, lots of it.
Yup a couple of runs again but not fussed as they will cut back with 2000 wet and dry and a good mopping.
And the old GT shell looking very lost and forlorn, also incredibly rusty and ready for the scrapheap in the sky

Posting that pic of the GT shell has made me sad. I didn't need to see such terrible things before bedtime

Its a shame really but its so far gone, there is rust on everything thing including the upper windscreen pillars, B post and c posts. Even the rails along the inside of the roof are rusty. just sat outside with no protection for many many years.

I was particularly disheartened by the way the A panel has just popped out sideways. Makes you want to save the ones we can.

The whole front bulkhead is loose through rust, the rear window will pop out with a little press. The boot floor has dropped out, the roof is ready to flip off and as for the main floor well who knows. The A panel pulled off like that, wings pretty much the same.
As basket cases go its a full on hopeless case.

I have a window in my red mini with the wrong no plate etched on it.
I used a glass etch cream to blank the etching out. Its just a frosty rectangle now.

That sounds far more exciting, no wonder you work to such high standards on your Minis, my advice about the Dermashield still stands though. Good luck with the paint
