Primer time then!  :gimme:

Got to remove the multiple layers of paint around the upper part of the rear screen, C pillars, side window frames, upper door cutout and the windscreen frame. Then its primer time.

Too many layers of paint for my liking so it all needs to go. Gone too far for old paint to react with the new stuff.

Not a huge amount of work done, busy collecting final things needed like new heaters, 16amp extension lead etc.

However the seam strips needed sorting along with the door hinges so these all got paint stripped, rust treated then epoxy primed.

And while i was at it i applied a smear of sealant on all the remaining flanges on the window apertures. No more water getting in.

Hi Neil,

I would like your advice on some epoxy primer that I bought.

I am removing the boot floor which I had already painted in epoxy and the paint is cracking and peeling off as I bend the metal while removing the floor.

I don't know if this is normal, what do you reckon ?

Pete.

Hi Pete,

it should not crack and lift so it sounds like it was not sprayed on clean bare metal. Defo not normal.

Onwards with paint prep and its off with all of the Heritage Ecoat. Too many spider tracks of rust lurking so it all has to go.

And two areas that need some minor filling

xqIPzE5.jpg

The bottom area that is dark is a low spot

fYvLDGN.jpg

And the black spots on the wing are some dimples.

That will all get sorted tomorrow along with some minor filling on the bulkhead and a few other areas i found today.

Looking good, it always feels a mammoth task on final filling and then high build priming and flatting to get to a stage you are happy with, but once it's done it's a good feeling, shouldn't be far off though now

And its come up well but still adding bits here and there

Then while the filler was hardening it was onto some minor metalwork missed earlier in the build
