For semkits we have a specialised pneumatic gun specifically for the tube size. Then once applied I smooth over with a finger and appropriate lubricant then tape removed.

I have this to look forward too but without the aid of a car jig
Not looking forward to lying on my back on the cold garage floor

My car is on its side and I don't have a spit, I put down some old car seat foam either end of the outer sills and car tyres that the roof Chanel rests on and tilted it on its side.
Think I may try that Pete I'm sure I can liberate a couple of old tyres from somewhere

Nice! Your sealant gun looks like it came from space!
When I did this job, I was using a bog standard cheapo caulking gun and my hand was dropping off by the end of it!

The last bit of the jigsaw puzzle turned up today and now my spare wheel wont be floating around in the boot anymore. One minorish problem with it though, the bloody bolt would not start in the captive nut at all. In the end i had to run a tap through the nut and then use a die on the thread to clean it up. Not what i expect from Heritage. Wheres the quality control before these things are shipped???
Anyway its in now but as i'm on a gripe about Heritage before i starting to mock up the mount i had a quick run over the boot floor with a DA and it was covered in spider tracks of rust!!!!
So for all those people who think Heritages Ecoat is the dogs danglies, have a bloody good look at what you fit.
So after a good clean up it ended up looking like this
And fuel tank in to check the spare wheel will actually fit and it does.
So after a liberal coating of Epoxy primer on the floor and mount in it went
Cleaned up
And primed
Then it was back in with the spit frame so i could sort the underside out
Happy days, now i can finish off the last odds and sods of sealing before stone chip.

I've had that with heritage stuff not good the price of it either !!
I've just had to have my new rear subframe powder coated as it was rusting and it's never been on the car !!!
Bloody annoying
