Well today marks the end of the welding on Paddy. Just over two years. The last bit to go in was the rear seat pan reinforcing strip

And after that finished off the sealing on the front of the car

The bit I'm dreading. Just starting to collect various sanding discs, pads etc. My DA will get a hammering

Cheers folks, he's a keeper so the more effort I put in know the longer he will retain his good looks. Certainly something I can't say for myself though!!!

Very neat seam sealing - I think from the look of the sealant we must be in the same line of work ...... I've been taking time ex semkits home from work for a while as well with a view to the future :-)

Bizarrely enough both Sem kits I used today had been out of date by one year and were still fine. PS870 B1/2. Just goes to show you what a con these shelf dates actually are for products like this.

The one thing I don't want on this car is any sort of reaction. All of the paint on the roof will be stripped back to bare metal. I have only been using Upol weld through Zinc rich primer and Epoxy primer.

The only original paint that will be left will be inside the car, all external paint will be back to bare metal.

I will be using 2K Epoxy primer, filler primer and topcoat ( and before anybody says anything I will be using appropriate PPE for the task) Solid colour so no clear coat either.

Going to have to wait a few months though for the weather to warm up. Far far too cold at the moment in our workshop.

Totally agree with you on paint reaction, have had deal with it a fair bit over the years, when I painted my Sprite

used Lechlar epoxy ,2k primmer surfacer and solid colour clear overbase  as that was original finnish,

As you say bit cold at the moment.
