Well finally got the front loom out today and what a mess its in, defo need a new one

IMG_3678_zpsdaxmyaqi.jpg

However while taking it out this was spotted lurking in the fuse box, can you spot it??

IMG_3668_zpstvs1azid.jpg

The amount of dust hiding behind the dash was ridiculous, ten years of bodyshop crud, also notice the state of the vents in the dash rail, looks like a giant rat has had a gnaw.

IMG_3674_zpsqf8yqopa.jpg

And i found this lurking under the top dash rail cover. i knew there had been an alarm fitted and here was the switch

Stripping done so happy days.

Had a look at the speaker on the rear shelf, proper 70's and English made

IMG_3683_zps5xkddiy1.jpg

IMG_3684_zpsfklnou7o.jpg

Roof lining out and at last i found out what caused the staining

IMG_3680_zps94supr4o.jpg

Sound deadening had sagged due to age and heat and some of it had fallen onto the lining staining it. Bugger!!!

IMG_3681_zpsvlcf0yvl.jpg

So tomorrow i can now wield the grinder in anger.

Did a bit of measuring first before cutting and also tried my subframe jig. So at least i now have the position of the fuel tank strap nut and the tank mount.

IMG_3694_zpstdar2bmd.jpg

So tried to offer up the jig and mmm it did not fit

IMG_3695_zpsa0lmd0rb.jpg

So i had to hack off the rear valance and the closeouts to get it into place

IMG_3703_zpsbo2izo31.jpg

IMG_3704_zpstxw1xcqp.jpg

Once in place the left hand mount was 3/8ths of an inch out. That i believe is down to the accident damage. Once i have cut the floor out i will check again to see if doing that has released things.

Tip of the iceberg Ben, once the floor is slaved in place and i'm happy with everything the back is coming off. ;D

Well the back end of Paddy WAS bent, the boot floor would not fit so once i released the brace and cut through the hinge panel it all sprung the right way. Hoorah.

Now the l/h rear subframe mount lines up nicely which is a top result.

IMG_3714_zpsehcszcjt.jpg

IMG_3715_zpsk992zzwf.jpg

So now its pinned in place ready fro me to chop out the rear panel

If only mate, if only. This week i have had to order a heelboard, outer arches, fwd closeouts, rear valance, fuel tank support and there will be more to come. Never bloody ending.

However looking fwd to cut the back panel off and having a boot that actually fits.
