So much work.  Really impressed with the jack points.

The plates at the sill ends were for standing the shell when on the production line.

Not really jacking points.

Yep they are slinging points internal and external.

That is one sweeeeet mini mate

Cheers looking fwd to L2B, got to sort the clutch first but will do that when i'm back from my hols.

Looking good!

Is it just me or is there an issue with Project ERM's thread? can only read the first page, any further I get 'Problem loading page - The page isn't redirecting properly'

Any ideas?

Paddy's looking great!

Brum, brum, mike I had the same problem trying to look at  Erm's thread.  I wanted to look at where Neil replaced the inner wings on Erm as doing them on mine at the moment.  It loads the first page but when you try to look at any other pages it gives the message "This web page has a redirect loop"....

Erm's build thread should be ok now. The server migration caused some issues but Deathrow sorted it out. :D

Decided to change the head gasket today but its too bloody warm in the garage and even before I got anywhere close to stripping it apart I sheared a thermostat housing stud. Bugger!!!!!! New set on the way from Minispares.

Anyway a bit of heat later and out it came so that was straight forward. Chucked the old stat in some boiling water and it does not really open. A Gap does appear but nothing like the new one i have got so I will plump for changing just the stat to see if that stops him from getting hot. Nothing in the red (yet) but on dual carriage ways he does get warm.

I think rather than fighting to whip the head off in this heat I will leave it. As long as he makes it to Mini's on the Rec next weekend I will be happy. He managed bombing around Beachy Head, Burling Gap and East Dean yesterday and there are some serious climbs there, even the wife enjoyed the drive out so happy days.

It's next Sunday Alex. We were out in him yesterday afternoon for a blast and saw a Dutch Red Mini Cooper and also when we nipped into the Tiger in East Dean for a quick pint there was a Metallic Blue Mpi there as well.

I haven't been out in him as much as I would like as birthdays ( mine) and having to nip abroad to fix one of out aircraft hasn't helped.

I still have not made it up to one of the EDMC meets with him yet as my shift pattern always clashes.

See the above link for Mini's on the Rec.

Ahh excellent! provided I have brakes again by then I will be there! and I dont really do much with the EDMC to be honest, its a bit quiet and they dont seem to do many events from what I have seen

Will keep my eyes peeled next sunday for the little blue clubman!

A little bit of an update,  i have a NOS rear subbie for Paddy which has been sitting around the workshop. Even being new and unused its not perfect so it got a lot of reinforcing welds added everywhere

every captive nut got extra welds as well just to be safe. A solid days worth of welding and grinding plus some panel beating has got it looking good ready for ..........yep powder coating. The company who will  be doing this Zinc primes the items first then applies the powder coating for extra protection. They are doing a handrail i made for my mum first so depending on how this comes out will depend if they do the subbie so fingers crossed.
