Project looks excellent.

Which rubber donuts have you bought and from where? I cannot decide which ones to get at the moment as they seem so expensive!

Neil i bought the rear doughnuts from Minispares

The fronts are Red spots i bought by mistake from another member on here.
http://www.minispare...|Back to search

These i have fitted to the front but just reading the preamble about them i may have to swap over to standard cones as i don't want to cut my new hi lo's

Finally got the hubs on today along with the discs and calipers. looks good

One problem is the hubnut. Stupid thing is 34 mm so had to buy a socketfrom Halfords so also bought a rather large 34 mm spanner while i was at it courtesy of my trade card. Those and a tub of Lithium grease was only £19.99 a saving of a tenner.

Now after assembling all of that lot the Caliper fouls slightly on the hub so that needs sorting out. And as in my last post i will need to replace the new red spot cones with standard ones.

Next thing to fit is this

Nylocs can be reused providing you get a run down torque on them. They are on the dampers as the rest are plain nuts with spring washers.

Yes there is, we bought him knowing that he had had a rear end shunt which had been repaired by Stevie Wonder. Boot floor buckled, hinge panel distorted and poorly repaired and also the rear panel has been distorted but got pulled straightish.

Unless you looked carefully you wouldn't know so he will be getting a full resto including rear panel, complete boot floor, both rear quarters, new boot lid skin, rear valance, new door skins, complete front end, new inner sills (there was some pitting caused by the oversills and although not bad i know its there.)

He still does not look bad for his age (38 this year) just really needs to be done properly and thoroughly.

Going to use him for at least a year before this. been talking to my lad and may buy the 1293 hes got tucked away for Erm. I really want the R1 conversion but i have spent all of the money on Heritage panels. Such is life.

That's the thing with mini's there is always something. For the moment i will be staying A series but in the end there will be Jap bike power. Never been keen on the K series but modified well they are not as bad as people make out.

I would love to go bike engine but the cost would go up massively I would probably go busa if money was no object as for the k series like the a series they also suffer reliability wise but its only really a heating/cooling problem with them so a good quality head gasket and well designed cooling system and it should go in forever. Are you keeping the same colour with paddym? And how is the roof coming on with erm

YES finally finished Paddy's front suspension so now he has got all new suspension in all four corners to match his wheels.
So from this
Posted Image
to this
Posted Image

And now back on his wheels although looking like a 4 x 4. Need to let the suspension settle for a while before i wind down the Hi lo's
Posted Image

Now to decide which look to go for, hubcaps and trim
Posted Image
or just the hubcap look
Posted Image

Master cylinder to fit next then a full bleed and hopefully a fully functioning brake system. That will be a job for next week when i'm off shift.

MOT is getting closer :D :D

No none really. Just waiting for the warmer weather so i can respray inside the roof gutters before i cut the roof out and fit the carbon fibre one. Oh and buy a pneumatic air shears to cut the roof section out.

I'm torn between trim or no trim on the wheels and i am also things about fitting some stainless steel round hub caps instead of the clubby ones. We shall see.
