i like the small bore engine projects  and the 202 head, thats off an 1100 engine? and does it basically just bolt straight on? and if your going to lighten the standard flywheel can you post pics of how you did it  sorry for hi-jacking your thread abit, just sounds interesting to do lol but really good luck with the project :)

I have some contacts that might be able to help me with the head situation :). Yeah sure, probably wont be for a few weeks as ive spoken to my old lecturer and he said i can use the fabrication shop whenever i please!. Planning to get the engine stripped down intime for the easter hols. I'm in france for one week of it thoughh. So my plan is to repaint block, brackets e.c.t, then can leave to harden the week i'm away!

Yeah the 202 was from 997 Coopers and Austin 1100's

Valves and on the standard CAM4180 and before item for all 998's was
26.99 inlet and 25.4 exhaust and a nominal cc of 25.5

The 12G202 head got
29.36 inlets 25.4 exhaust and a nominal cc of 26.1

As you can see a 3mm bigger inlet and a slightley larger chamber capacity. Dont worry about the exhaust too much it only needs to flow to about 80% of the inlet and Calver/Vizard reckon you can get away with about 72%

Fountain of all useless knowledge *rolls eyes*

All in good time! Ruby has her m.o.t at the end of the month, so keeping some funds in reserve just encase...

Best mini he had seen, no advisories, failed it on a split steering rack gaitor :\. Not sure if that was harsh or not? Anyway managed to pick up moth sides from S.C's just before they closed for £4.27! So i know what i'll be doing after work tomorrow..... Retest monday, just need to make sure tracking is ookay when i refit the track rod ends!

Anybody changed a sterring rack gaitor before? Any heads up before i crack on with it is welcome :)
