hi guys i have been fitting a new exhaust today and i have noticed its leaking oil from the drive shafts quite bad . is this a really bad thing and what do i do to stop it

its leaking from the end were it joins into the gearbox

hope this helps im sorry if it dont im new to all this stuff so i might now be up to scratch lol

I had this on my car, minispares had some diff output shaft oil seals that go inbetween the cv joint and the casing. Think they were 80p each you just have to drop the driveshaft from the car by undoing the top balljoint on the swivel hub, then carefully knock out the cv joint from the casing using a piece of slightly bent metal pivoting on the casing nut. After you get it out swap the seal and push it back into the casing and replacing the driveshaft and tightening the balljoint up again. :)

Get hold of the pot joint (while it's still attached to the gearbox) in your hand, if you can wobble it up and down then it's likely that the bush in the diff cover has worn, so no matter how many times you change the diff seal, it'll still leak.

oh right okay OMG thats all i would need for that to be broken lol as i havnt got enough problems as it is lol

hi i checked my drive shafts and they dont move up and down but is still leaking so could it be the seal thanks lee

That looks like an Auto....

Fortunately they still use the same seal as manuals... p/n ADU5738

That's the diff seal which you need to replace.

Part numbers are part numbers, it shouldn't matter who you get it from they should be using BL part numbers.

add oil and an oil filter as you have should drain the oil when doing this!
