It should be remembered apart from the fairly obvious visual checks few people can actually check the grade of steel used for balljoints.........what looks ok may actually be made of poor quality or the wrong grade of steel........buy from a reputable branded source rather than a market trader, your life could depend on it.

I always get whatever my local part shop has. I think they may be QH ones but I'm not sure.
Always visually inspect, check they move right and I tend to change mine every other year (change, shim, change cycle), been doing it for three or so years now.
I personally have not had a problem with non-gen parts. Then again, my car is a mutant hodge podge of parts the likes of the which the world rarely sees.
