I am afraid I find some of the comments on here sickening . We had a cat that was torn apart by a Alsatian dog while the owner stood there and laughed!! I am afraid I do not understand some people .

in fairness i have poultry and keep them confined within a house and run so they don't fly over fences and distroy my neighbours gardens and flowers because i know what damage they can do.... WHY CAN'T SOME CAT OWNERS KEEP THEIR CATS IN A SIMILAR ENVOIRNMENT??

if you cannot train them then they are virtualy wild and should not be kept as pets and instead hunted like rabbits/foxes/deer etc etc

on the contrary to like to hear my keyboard keys any thing that causes discomfort within the boundaries of your own land is imo classed as vermin and should be disposed of by any means of your choice.... my method is illegal and not a sujestion but it works for me...... anyways if the said cat owners thought anything of their cats then the wouldn't let them out....

I don't honestly know where to start with what you've said.....

Can I suggest you read it back and then just have a little think about what a ridiculous statement that is...

what part do you find ridiculous??

You keep them in runs because if they flew off, they would never come back! Cats don't destroy things, well atleast my cats don't, I let them out because it's not fair to keep them in, they're happy animals (they wouldn't come back if they wasn't)

obviously you don't keep poultry.... and i think what you mean to say is your cats don't sh!t on their own doorstep but do on everyone elses....

Pretty much all of it to be honest, and I think you're just looking to get a rise out of people by being "controversial".

Simple answer, get yaself a cat and a dog SORTED.

Our cat is fairly old about 6 years old but my god can she scare off the big tom boys :D We also have a border collie aswell, as soon as the cat comes in the garden shes jumping and barking at the back door, the cat soon buggers off.

No need for all this violence towards animals, theres tactics out there to scare them off without harm being caused

AND just to add, my dog would never hurt a cat shes too much of a softey

My late uncle did, and they go in the borders, they'll only go where they can bury it which is generally where there's plants, or they'll go in the cat litter.

i personly hate cats, as were more of dog lovers in our household, but some of these comments are beyond believe, cats roam and are not easily trained like other pets,

i'm not looking to get a rise out of anyone but find people trying to defend their cats actions while roaming quite insulting...

Awwwww thats horrible!!!!! :D

If anyone had done some of the horrible things they said to my cat when he was around, I'd be tempted to do the same thing to them.

How would you like it if someone threw a load of bleach over you for being in their garden?

please read over my post saying why i do... they also dig up our veggies/ flowers, leave dead rats in the garden for my son to find...... if i wanted a cat i'd buy one but find them more of a neusence and therefore causing my family discomfort....
my way is quick and relatively painless unlike antifreeze and the like which causes a slow and painfull death so imo its more apropriate.

as a cat owner a dog owner and a mini owner i can honestly say that im disgusted by the views and coments that some people have put on this family based forum. ok so a cat that scrathes your car is annoying and yes the owner should do something about it and if not then ideas like putting citrus peel around would be a sensible good idea. but throwing bleach, shooting a cat with a crossbow nailing spikes into the fence or puting anti freeze down is the sort of thing that makes me angry as they are horrible unfair and downright stupid. i hunt with air rifles ocasionaly and i hunt for the fairness and respect that i have for the rabbit or vermin i hunt. all my shots are as close as i can achieve to a clean kill and if i know it wount be a clean kill as its to far away i dont shoot it as to wound an animal and let it suffer a slow painfull death is inhumane.

oh and thiss is in reply to who ever sugested shooting the cat with a cross bow.

The thing is, I highly doubt a cat would scratch a car, it's just not something a cat would do, they tend to scratch things they can dig their claws into like a tree or a fence post. All said and done, seeing as this is a family forum as said above, if I had a child I would rather them read swearing than some of the stuff that is said above.
