am currently building my mini project from the ground up and am encountering these issues myself. Mine is having a zeemax kit which should help it look lower anyway but am still running into problems.

I am using standard subframe on front with lowered spax coilovers and i am going to have to modify the bracket supplied in the kit to mount the lower end of the coilover to the top arm as it is up so high it fouls on the subframe. I may look into loosing the lower of the two top subframe mounting spacers as has been mentioned to gain an advantage there.

The rear is a mini spares beam again with spax lowered coilovers but after a dry build i have taken some measurements and am going to have to raise the rear turrets where the coilover mounts by 35mm to get the rideheight i want with adequate damper travell remaining. With the turrets unmodified, the ride height seems perfect just when the damper bottoms out !

I was reading this and was considering ways to make the car look lower, now for me i think the main way to do this is to reduce the wheel arch gap.
So has anyone tried mounting the arches lower on the body to reduce this gap?
I don't know much about how the arches attach so if this would be possible or not.
And im guessing this may cause problems with the arches rubbing the wheels?

Well if your lowering it loads you'll get the same problems regardless of wheel/tyre size.

I have about 15mm arch gap at the front and around 20mm at the back and that still rubs a bit if you hit a bump.

You can mount your arches lower, but with most mini arches the wheel will just catch. The newish 'mexico' arches (designed by a forum member and available from ABS) are better for this though as they are wider and can sit outside the tyre. That way you can get the arch really low on the car and the wheel will still have space inside the arch for suspension travel. It just depends if you like that style of arch - I'm not sure what I think of them really!
