I do wonder about my car though, not sure if anyone can help; it is a 1996 but a lmd edition German export (silver bullet). I understand it was fitted with 13x6 wheels as standard, would this mean that the arches had been "trimmed" as per the later sportspacks

I'm fairly good at building low minis, but it is a minefield you do have to know what you're doing.
I've done loads of migs and Se7ens that have a min ground clearance of 40mm, and they handle and perform well, so its possible to lower it a lot and still retain the driveability.

It'll look alright standing still, but there's nothing less cool than doing 35mph everywhere because you keep bottoming out, and having a permanently sore arse because you have no suspension travel.
Keep it at the proper height, and it'll go like stink everywhere.

Alright jayme! Man to be honest if u want it slammed go coilovers but trust me if u have it slammed the handling is awfull and the ride would shake the teeth outa ya and the exhaust runs way to low and scraps everywr u go! U would need to cut the arches more to be safe but im pretty sure sportpacks arches were cut at the factory, i run the gaz coilovers at the front and hilos at the back
Alright how's it goin great to see some familiar ones on here

Its about 2 inches at the lowest point, which is the sump guard. Which basically means if anything is going to hit, its that.
I have had it lower, but it scraped on the speed bumps on the way into town
Guess it depends on where you live and where you want to go

First two pics are 'before' with 30 year old, tired original rubber cones. The third image is a comparison of the old cone and a brand new Minisport Smootha Ride Cone!
The last image is 'after' with smootha ride cones and adjusta ride trumpets fitted. The trumpets are set to the shortest setting for the bedding in period.

I haven't "slammend" mine by any means, but I couldn't go any lower, I have just over a 1 finger gap between the actual metal arch of the car (not the arch extension) and the wheel. There are some speed bumps i can go over, and have been known to reverse away form them, with the sound tune of beeping horns reminating!!! you can see the rear in one of the pics, i would say its quite low!

Only the front wheel arches will have been trimmed by the factory on the sportspack models. They will have welded on an edging piece afterwards to stiffen the wing back up again.
