Aerodynamic Mini Mk1 (1965)...long before the R50 MINI (2001).
All about the Hamlin Special - once the Fastest Mini in the World:-
"It was built out of a blue 1959 lightweight Mini but had parts from a wrecked Cooper 'S' which Frank bought."

David Vizard - CCC Race Mini 1973
Probably Silverstone as I'm pretty sure the ice cream van in the background is the local main firm Gallone's (cream over yellow and the KVV reg) sorry not mini related just a memory from my childhood as I probably used this van at some time

What engine was Wood running in that?
Geoff Wood, Mallory Park coming into the hairpin 1972/3.
The engine in the purple Mini was a short crank 1300cc Holbay Ford (too short as it was a regular conrod wrecker !),
according to Geoff's son.

"....two spectacular accidents at Paddock Bend, at the same time but unconnected. Chris Montague (Mini Cooper) slewed backwards into the ditch, but Bill McGovern bounced his Mini on its roof and was extricated unhurt by Montague."
