Just brought a clubby estate for the mrs to run around in. Needs a LOT of work. Has been sitting around for about 4 years. It starts and seems to run ok though. Needs a bit of welding, though all the panels needing replacing also came with the car which was a bonus. Not bad for £160. Only thing which is niggling me at the moment is the log book - only has an old style one not a new one. My nan knows the bloke i brought it off and assures me he's not dodgy. If i send it off does anyone know if i will still receive the new style one back or is this going to cause me problems? I think from looking on the DVLA website you fill it out and send it in with a covering letter??
Anyway wish me luck, don't know a whole lot about mechanics but hopefully with me Haynes and you lot i can work it all out.

i think they will just send a new one like you say.
I think a covering letter will be ok but i don't think that it is necessarily needed

£160! You've pulled a bargain there. I'm sure you'll pick up the mechanics in no time
Good luck fellow Estate owner.

Cheers.
The hardest bit will be all the welding. I don't have a clue, or a welder. Luckily my brother in law has got one. Only downside he has used it about once!! He plans to learn while he welds the estate up - ba***rd :erm:
