Hello there,

I plan to build models (1/24 scale) of the ADO15 prototypes.
Does any photos of the back of the A35 Prototype exist?
What were the colours used? It seems strange to paint a car in orange while trying to be discrete ?

Thank you

Michel

XC9003 photographed in 1959 (you can see an early Mini saloon reg. no. XOC 233 with the van grille behind) this is the rear view of the second running prototype. First prototype of XC9003 was orange the second was deep red. What would this sell for at auction today.....if only it had been kept.........but of course no one realised at the time!

This rarely seen rear view of the second running Mini prototype is from the excellent book 'Mini: The Definitive History' by Jon Pressnell.

It would be good to see some photos of your models when you have built them. :-)

Spark announced a 1:43 diecast model of the 1958 Mini Orange Box some tine ago but no sign of it yet:

About Spark

Hello mab01uk, Thank you for those informations. I placed an order for the book today.

I know Spark products. It is a French Company based in China, prototypes made by French modellers.

I will post photos here when I will start this project. I am a member of the forum-auto. We meet at model shows, great occasion to go to nice restaurants on Saturday night.

I have a great interest for BMC and British Leyland as I worked many years in the seventies in Belgium, Holland and UK. I took the decision to restart competition with the Triumph Dolomite Sprint even if the Marylebone road team did not agree. We won all races in class 2000cc in 74-75 except the 24 Hours of Francorchamps. French team started in 1975 with our help.

I hope I was not too long with my old good memories.

Michel
