so after the bracing bit, I checked the roof a bit, thought I needed to replace that one, but with a bit sanding and kurust it is not that bad, except the front corners and rear gutter. I have a donor roof so I will use that one for the areas that need replacing, looking on the inside the roof is in very good nick for her age.
I might put in a few hours tmr.

first how is was to start with,

cleaned the area with wire whool brush on angle grinder, nice job using that.

this is going to be a delicate job, first I will take out the window panel corner,
starting with drilling out the spotwelds
cut allong marked bit and peel back old panel piece, leaving the gutter in it position

cutting out rot and replace with new metal

before cutting out donor piece, wire brush inside the boxing as there was only surface rust in that corner, and coated it with kurust

Tomorrow I will cut out the roof bit and get that area tydied-up as before, and try and tack in the window panel donor piece onto the inside of the gutter, as that will be perfect to get to with the corner cut out.

I do have a whole roof, but......is the new version one with different gutter, and I do want to keep the origional one, more work to cut the old gutter and put onto new roof, once I get going those holes will be fixed before your filler could dry lol(maybe not).

Thanks Shifty, needless to say I did not enjoy the start of it, knowing this kinda surgery is rather trickyNice work there, roof stuff is hugely tricky, too much heat and its game over!!
Cheers Hugh, yes it is/was difficult, that little patch took me over 2 hours, but worth while, the corner will be more complex,..so we will seeHello minimuk - I'm with Shifty on this one. Gutter repairs are incredibly difficult. I hated doing mine. Super job.

Have to agree, nice work on such a tight area. Glad mine is ok as don't think it would come out as nice !!
Graham
Cheers Graham,, I am sure over the time you have enough skills developed to do this kinda work to,....but agree it is not easy to work in such a tight area,......reading the metal and the way a mini is put toghether is a puzzle on it's own, everytime I start on something I haven't done before on a mini, it is time consuming and challenging. Planning is most of the work though,.....
