Today is one of them days......a lot planned to do but........getting the engine bay sorted, seamsealing welds, scuttle panel on etc...
trying the scuttle panel to fit and weld,....FAIL....not heritage......hmph.....Minispeed sending one tmz,
tacked bonnet hinges in final position, so bonnet sits snog, no doubt all will be different with Heritage scuttle.....
on a positieve note, put first coat of Teal Blue (1970-1975) on bulkhead....

Graham, location position was in my notepad and pictures, when I removed the old ones from the rotten panels, if you need them in the future, I will let you know.

cheers Wayne, a long way to go but in a straight line.......

playing with the new heritage scuttle/lower window panel, only got one shot so tweeking with innerwing to bulkhead panel to get all lined up. Happy with result, tacking tmz possibly, unless I fettle a bit more on it, but got be be 410mm spot on between top and bottum lip at any place.
panel positioned

need to tidy innerwing to scuttle a bit

same here

when little jobs done panel will be tacked in place,......SPOTWELDING SOON, Graham....but after scuttle, wings lining-up......can't wait for that ;D

Looks so good. You are so wise I shouldn't suggest this. I didn't check if the windscreen fitted before welding up my screen surround with scuttle. Of course it didn't fit so I had to grind out the aperture. You advised me to take it all back out and do it properly. Just jogging your memory.

well Hugh, funny you say that, I was thinking about you when writing last piece, as mentioned before, slow but in a straight line, one day won't matter that much, will save that in the end....hopefully. Further it is so much nicer to work with Heritage panels for the very visuable body-work, it just all fit's !!

after one week no play, as work was to busy last week, got back on her.
first a dry run with the wing's and scuttle gap's,
happy with the looks of those;
Attached File  scuttle panel wing nearside fit 1.jpg   88.48K   19 downloads Attached File  scuttle panel wing off-side fit 1.jpg   88.6K   21 downloads

after that, the final scuttle panel and inner wing's prep, this is a slow process as all has to be measured 10ish times, here are a few measurements for the professors on here; window middle under gutter to middle scuttle gutter edge 21", under roof gutter nearside and offside to scuttle gutter edge above the bonnet hinges 213/8".
Once this was achieved, 2 hours later, I finished the innerwing/scuttle crossover to bulkhead. then zinc primed and a good coat of Teal blue.

work tmz but Wednesday another go at it, selftappers galore..... ;D

Minimuk you should be satisfied with wing/scuttle gap - they are perfect!! That is some job you've done to the front.

Thanks Hugh, the most important panel for lining up all front panels in my opinion is the scuttle, if that is wrong all is out...the wings where only trial fitted so the end result should be good, once propper clamped and tacked hear and there. I will offer the bonnet on Wednesday too and see where we are.....
